Guilherme Darisbo and Alter Breitenbach have been co-workers – more than co-workers, BROTHERS – since the beginning of the 90s, when they played in the same industrial rock group whose name they don't remember, in Porto Alegre. Darisbo is a sound artist, improviser - mostly in electric guitar -, and known for his work as curator of Antena.art.br label. Breitenbach played, screamed and will scream in dozens of punk, hardcore, no-wave, noisecore and similar bands and is one of the pioneers of noise music in Brazil, having released his first harsh noise album, "ab" (recorded and produced by Darisbo), in the last year of the XX century. Both are great people, and this is the first partnership made exclusively by the two.

"ASCAREL" was recorded with cheap electronics, beautiful sounding scrap metal pieces, second-hand effects, contact mics and a Stylophone, in a studio session shortly after Darisbo moving to Minas Gerais, shortly before Breitenbach moved to Bahia. It was mastered in Quebec.

The mixture of polychlorinated biphenyl with hydrocarbon is called ASCAREL in Brazil. It is a product often used for electrical network installations, but it is extremely toxic. Breitenbach could see dozens of gallons of ASCAREL stored right next to his window, for the maintenance of the transformers of the electric company in the east zone of Porto Alegre City.
